The V.A. Elizarov Academic Dance Theatre of Sevastopol in plan represents a pentagon with flattened corners. The main entrance to the building is to the east (from the side of the proposed theatre square, between the Theatre of Young Spectators and the Dance Theatre).
The space planning solution consists of dividing the building into two main functional blocks. The first block is the administrative - economic part and the second block is the spectator complex.
The spectator block is a glazed volume, behind which the auditorium glances, involving the interior space. The administrative - economic part is made with the use of rhythmic glazing of a single size with displacement.
The membrane gives dynamics to the facade of the building, due to the overlapping to each other amplitude bends of three textures that are different in translucency.
On the lumen, becoming ephemeral in the lower levels, allows the effect of the permeability and transparency of the theatre's connection to the city to be enhanced. This solution is a metaphor for the dance and expression of the dance production.
The building is designed to take into account the use of environmentally and human-friendly materials, in a calm coloristic solution. The main materials used in the façade are shell rock, traventine, granite and glass. The main idea of the interior of the Elizarov Theatre is creating the most comfortable place for the audience before and after the performance, as well as during intermission.
